Initial condition – The structure of the table was completely loosen. Numerous cracks and tears. The profiled and carved drawer headboard was missing along with the central foldable board. Entire surface was complete ruined, peeling and crumbeling in many places. The fitting was very dirty with some of its parts missing, including the key.
The restoration process – Complete dismounting of the object. Purge of the joints from a weatherworn hide glue. Complement of carvings and production of the missing board. Overall removal of the surface finish. Re-glueing of the drawers corpus. Application of a new surface finish including the lining. Production of missing fitting followed by final assembly into one piece.
Time spent – 650 hours
